[LITERARY] Document (7)
by Tommy
i believe my soulmate is broken
into a million pieces of starlight
and scattered around the world.
so fine,
so brilliant,
that people unknowingly inhale his parts.
and maybe that’s why I find it all too confusing,
how anyone can feel like the one,
as if anyone actually is.
there are people who have so much of him
inside their systems;
so much of him rushing through their veins
that it is ironic how there is so much of you
in a person that is anything but.
i find you in the saddest existences of the most brilliant minds,
i find you in the ugliest hearts of the most beautiful faces,
i find you in the cloudiest thoughts of those who have the clearest intentions,
and i have you inside me,
but i don’t have enough.
not a piece,
not a part,
but an inkling
gradually dissolving into me
and making me forget the existence
i swore to always remember.
so i’ll continue to look inside these strangers
in search of a piece of my lover,
so broken down
and scattered,
that his existence may very well be not just for one person
and not just for me.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
In a perpetual state of restlessness, I always seem to have something going on.
I am Russell Thomas Tuazon, this year’s Editor-in-chief and the catalyst of the first-ever online publication in UST Angelicum’s SHS Department. I have always had a knack as well as a penchant for writing. I believe in the power of writing and its ability to verbalize even the most indescribable emotions and situations. And for that, I have grown fond of literature and journalism.
I like to think of myself as headstrong and willful. I believe that sheer will with a little bit of luck can get you places. In reality, however, I am but a spaced-out nuisance of the school with too many goals and too little body fat. Oh, and I also like to perform.
The USTAC Tigercubs has so much potential for such a modest club. But I hope to unlock at least a semblance of this potential through this online publication.
